Backyard ponds, patios and fire pits in Athens, AL

Chris built his own backyard over a lot of years: a koi pond with a waterfall, a sauna, a place to sit at the end of the day. People who see it ask who did it. This is that, for your yard. Ponds and water features are the specialty. Patios, fire pits, seat walls and small structures come with it.

from $3,500

Start with how you want to use it

Most backyard regrets come from building the thing before thinking about where you will sit, what you will look at, and how water and shade move across the yard. We talk through that first, on your back porch, before anything gets drawn or dug.

What is included

  • Koi ponds and pondless waterfalls
  • Pond cleanouts, pump and filter repair
  • Paver and flagstone patios and walkways
  • Fire pits and seat walls
  • Small retaining walls and steps
  • Pergolas, decks and small outbuildings
  • Low-voltage lighting around the space
  • Planting that ties it together

How it goes

  1. Come look at it

We walk the yard with you and talk about what you are picturing. We bring photos of what we have built.

  2. A plan and a price

A simple drawing and one number. If you want to spread it out, we build it in phases that each stand on their own.

  3. Built by hand

Chris does the work himself, with Blake. No subcontractor and no crew you have never met. It takes the time it takes and it is done right.

Common questions

How much does a backyard pond cost?

A small pondless waterfall starts around $3,500. A koi pond with a proper skimmer, filter and waterfall usually runs $8,000 to $20,000 depending on size. We price it after we see the yard.

How much does a paver patio cost?

Plan on $20 to $30 per square foot installed, so a 12 by 16 patio lands around $4,000 to $6,000. Walls and fire pits add to that.

How long does it take?

A patio is usually a week. A pond is one to three weeks. We tell you the schedule before we start and text you if it moves.
